Life As You Know It

I know what you are thinking, on the surface this looks like another one of those predictable romantic comedies. Well guess what your right it is. The plot idea seems like a cross between The Break Up (2006), and What Happens in Vegas (2008). It now seems like a pattern. Every two years, just remake the same movie. (This film was released it 2010.)

Well guess what it works. The fact that your reading this review most likely means you have already seen or rented this movie. The fact alone that you are reading this review means you are at least interested. Am I right? You are responsible in a way for this reoccurrence in plot ideas. Hollywood depends on money. If you paid to see this movie then you are the reason the keep making the same film over and over again. This film is entertaining however. I always say that is not the destination that counts but how you get there that is the true journey. This film definitely takes a new route.
The characters in this film are fun and lovable. The baby named Sofia is overwhelmingly adorable and so is Katherine Heigel. Only Heigel is ultra sexy too. If you are looking for nudity in this PG-13 rated flick don't bother. There are however two ultra hot scenes of her (Heigel) in both a bubble bath and a shower. Less is more I always say. This film has more than eye candy however. It has some wonderful scenes and scenarios and mix in a fairly creative plot line to boost.

I'd suggest this movie for anyone who is simply looking for some lighthearted entertainment. The movie is warm and inviting and worth the time you put into it. I admit it is a tad long at one hour and fifty-five minutes. It does not however have any frivolous or pointless scenes. (At least not after the birthparents die that is.)

A note from an editor!

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this piece, especially on a Saturday morning. I can tell you definitely took good notes of everything that was going on during the event!

We still have some work to do before this piece is ready to print. Your piece has a lot of information, but it doesn’t sound like a news article. What was the point of his speech/presentation? Why was he addressing this audience? What is Vanguard? What does the company do – who does it serve? You spend a lot of time narrating (for example, how he was injured), but did not report on the purpose of the event. You can maybe mention his appearance/joking about it in a sentence or two, but do not take several paragraphs to do so. Also, I like how you mentioned where the name “Vanguard” comes from.

There are a lot of spelling errors in this piece – make sure you proof read each sentence carefully.

I know I am getting back to you a little later I hoped, and I’m sorry about that! But if you have time tonight, please go through my suggestions and try to rework your piece. You can send me what you have tonight/tomorrow morning. Please bring a copy of it to the meeting tomorrow and we will discuss it further from there.

Once again, thanks for your hard work and promptness! Remember this is a learning process, and we are all part of the Waltonian team!

Talk to you soon!
