Crazy, Stupid, Love

What can I say about this movie that make you want to see it. I had never heard this until today. I noticed that it had only one showing at my local movie house and was hesitant to add it to my list of options since class was over at 10 am.  Alas I got into talking and reading. What topic could possibly keep away from home for so long?  I found articles in magazines from Entertainment Weekly to Newsweek praising this movie and it fantastic cast and writers.

So I jumped at the chance to see it as well.  I walked home the long trek home from the theater to my apartment. I quickly called up my two biggest supporters on movies. The message I left on their answering machines went something like this. “Julianne Moore and Steve Carrel are getting divorced in a new movie. If that does not get you to call me back nothing will!”

Here is the review I promised you in the first place. I am not sure how to describe this film with out giving too much away. If I tried to tell you what the movie was about I would run out of room on the Internet. So let me do what I do best, and review this sucker for what it is worth.

First off it is perfect. The casting is off the charts with the above marquee names I mentioned are the central figures. The supporting players including, Emma Stone who gets a Scarlet A for starring in three mega movies this summer including Friends with Benefits and The Help. Even Ryan Gosling does fairly well in this outstanding film.

Analeigh Tipton was out ignored in The Green Hornet.  She will Stand out here. It is her star that shines brightest as the sexy, smoking, sinfully delicious 17-year-old baby sitter named simply Jessica. She steals the spotlight. I therefore give her my rarely  spotlight award and ask that you look for her in future roles. Like Damsels in Distress due out later this year and Samaritan which is still in post-production.

The over all feeling of the film was that of togetherness. It all comes together in the end for hilarious results. The other cast members not mentioned  were amazing. They looked like they did not raise a sweat when filming this movie. The direction was top notch and the film had an over all great feeling to it.  I am sure you will enjoy this film to if you just give it a chance.

A note from an editor!

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this piece, especially on a Saturday morning. I can tell you definitely took good notes of everything that was going on during the event!

We still have some work to do before this piece is ready to print. Your piece has a lot of information, but it doesn’t sound like a news article. What was the point of his speech/presentation? Why was he addressing this audience? What is Vanguard? What does the company do – who does it serve? You spend a lot of time narrating (for example, how he was injured), but did not report on the purpose of the event. You can maybe mention his appearance/joking about it in a sentence or two, but do not take several paragraphs to do so. Also, I like how you mentioned where the name “Vanguard” comes from.

There are a lot of spelling errors in this piece – make sure you proof read each sentence carefully.

I know I am getting back to you a little later I hoped, and I’m sorry about that! But if you have time tonight, please go through my suggestions and try to rework your piece. You can send me what you have tonight/tomorrow morning. Please bring a copy of it to the meeting tomorrow and we will discuss it further from there.

Once again, thanks for your hard work and promptness! Remember this is a learning process, and we are all part of the Waltonian team!

Talk to you soon!
