Dial M for Murder (1st Time)

This is the only film I know of to inspire and effect and entire series of stories or books written by Sue Grafton. The alphebet series started in the mid-eighties as well as made the original trivial pursuit board game in 1979. What other movie can wear that badge of honor? Anything that does that deserves total props in my book. This film deserved it anyway. Any movie to put Grace Kelly in a love triangle also deserves my highest regard She is one of the most astonishing woman to ever Grace the silver screen. She was born in my favorite city of all time. That is right I from Philadelphia, A.k.a. The City of Brotherly Love. She made 3 films for The Master of Suspense in two years and this is the first one I’ve reviewed. Don’t worry fans Rear Window is top on My Queue and To Catch A Thief is not far behind. Considering this film had a very small cast. 4 actors more or less and took place mostly in one room I’d consider it a major accomplishment. Usually such ingredients are a recipe for boredom you must have a superlative director to make this film an exception to the aforementioned rule. They say the beginning of stories or written articles is what usually catches the person's attention. Well than a movies ending must hold true to that same rule. This one is a dozy. I watched it a few hours ago and my head is still reeling. What is that ending you ask?. Rent the movie and discover for yourself. I’d be a horrible critic if I told you the ending. Besides this one must be seen to be believed. Grade A

A note from an editor!

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this piece, especially on a Saturday morning. I can tell you definitely took good notes of everything that was going on during the event!

We still have some work to do before this piece is ready to print. Your piece has a lot of information, but it doesn’t sound like a news article. What was the point of his speech/presentation? Why was he addressing this audience? What is Vanguard? What does the company do – who does it serve? You spend a lot of time narrating (for example, how he was injured), but did not report on the purpose of the event. You can maybe mention his appearance/joking about it in a sentence or two, but do not take several paragraphs to do so. Also, I like how you mentioned where the name “Vanguard” comes from.

There are a lot of spelling errors in this piece – make sure you proof read each sentence carefully.

I know I am getting back to you a little later I hoped, and I’m sorry about that! But if you have time tonight, please go through my suggestions and try to rework your piece. You can send me what you have tonight/tomorrow morning. Please bring a copy of it to the meeting tomorrow and we will discuss it further from there.

Once again, thanks for your hard work and promptness! Remember this is a learning process, and we are all part of the Waltonian team!

Talk to you soon!
