Underdog

In the world of a dime a dozen super hero movies this ones a winner. The story is as old as time. Police dog falls in to the clutches of evil gangster named Sinister and recieves a dog bath of super human chemicals turning him into an instant superior named Underdog. An underdog he is too. He rescues people purely for the good of humanity and to win of the heart of the fetching female and his love interest also Aptly named Pollypurebread. He saves cats from burning fires, foils the plans of cat burglars (notice a theme here?) and wins over the heart of the city. Bar Sinister however wants his power for himself. He spends most of the movie looking for the dog who he himself reluctantly gave this super powers and is out to make and army of super powered canines for himself. The characters are old as well, A young high school boy living alone with his father after his mother dies is skipping school and looking for a friend of any sort. When he finds a friend with four legs he quickly becomes responsible and attempts to rescue the owner of Pollypurebread a cute young writer for the school newspaper named Molly. Does everything come out right in the end of course it’s Disney. It’s a superior movie the good guy always wins. You pretty much expect that from the start. The fun of this movie is getting there. You will laugh You will cheer you will enjoy this movie. It is time well spent. Grade B+

A note from an editor!

Hi Matthew,

Thank you for the time and effort you put into this piece, especially on a Saturday morning. I can tell you definitely took good notes of everything that was going on during the event!

We still have some work to do before this piece is ready to print. Your piece has a lot of information, but it doesn’t sound like a news article. What was the point of his speech/presentation? Why was he addressing this audience? What is Vanguard? What does the company do – who does it serve? You spend a lot of time narrating (for example, how he was injured), but did not report on the purpose of the event. You can maybe mention his appearance/joking about it in a sentence or two, but do not take several paragraphs to do so. Also, I like how you mentioned where the name “Vanguard” comes from.

There are a lot of spelling errors in this piece – make sure you proof read each sentence carefully.

I know I am getting back to you a little later I hoped, and I’m sorry about that! But if you have time tonight, please go through my suggestions and try to rework your piece. You can send me what you have tonight/tomorrow morning. Please bring a copy of it to the meeting tomorrow and we will discuss it further from there.

Once again, thanks for your hard work and promptness! Remember this is a learning process, and we are all part of the Waltonian team!

Talk to you soon!
